Life Sucks

by Aaron Posner

Produced by John Clancy

In this brash reworking of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, a group of old friends,  ex-lovers, estranged in-laws, and lifelong enemies gather to grapple with life’s thorniest questions—and each other. What could possibly go wrong?

Incurably lustful and lonely, hapless and hopeful, these seven souls collide and stumble their way towards a new understanding that LIFE SUCKS! Or does it?

Following sell out shows as part of the 2019 All Ireland Drama festival at venues around Ireland, Corofin Dramatic Society will bring this thought provoking play back to life for 2 final shows in Co Clare and Co Kerry.

Set on Inishmaan in 1934, the Cripple of Inismaan is a strange comic tale in the great tradition of Irish Storytelling.

As word arrives on Inishmaan that the Hollywood director Robert Flaherty is coming to the neighbouring island of Inishmore to film Man of Aran, the one person who wants to be in the film more than anybody is young Cripple Billy, if only to break away from the bitter tedium of his daily life.
